ZIMZUM
Zimzum
is an art project by Hadas Tapuchi,
curated as a newspaper.
The first issue documents Tapuchi's research into war-crime scenes in the Krems region, Austria, examining the culture of memorials and monuments, and the ways conventional tools of remembrance disconnect history from the present rather than preserving it. The project directs attention to the banality of evil: the social process by which individuals renounce independent moral judgment.
I collaborated with Hadas Tapuchi to create the first issue, launched at Sites & Memories, IG Bildende Kunst, Vienna, 2017.
